Our Mission
The Greenfield Metro Garden Association exists to unite gardeners of all skill levels in a shared commitment to community greening, environmental stewardship, and neighborly connection. Whether you tend a single container on your balcony or manage a full community plot, there is a place for you here.
We believe that when people garden together, neighborhoods thrive. Our members have collectively maintained over 40 community garden plots, planted more than 3,000 trees, and donated tens of thousands of pounds of fresh produce to local food banks.
What We Do
Community Garden Plots
We coordinate shared garden spaces across four cities in the metro area. Members can reserve raised beds, in-ground plots, or shared perennial borders at any of our chapter locations.
Education & Workshops
From seed-starting in January to fall composting clinics, our calendar is packed with hands-on learning. Master Gardener volunteers lead monthly workshops on topics like organic pest management, pollinator habitat design, soil health, and season extension techniques.
Youth Programs
Our Sprouts Program introduces children ages 5–12 to gardening basics through school partnerships and summer garden camps. We currently partner with 14 elementary schools across the metro.
Harvest Sharing
Every growing season, our chapters organize harvest drives that channel surplus produce to food pantries and community kitchens. Last year members donated over 8,500 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables.
Seed Library
Members have access to our metro-wide seed library, stocked with locally adapted, open-pollinated varieties donated and saved by fellow gardeners.
